We prefer managers who possess the right blend of confidence, prudence and experience.
They often come from the top hedge funds or have left a proprietary trading desk at an investment bank. Occasionally we find top-rated individuals from the long only side who successfully make the transition to managing a hedge fund. The manager must have a significant part of his personal wealth invested in the fund. He must be a natural business and people leader with a demonstrable track record in different market conditions and economic cycles. |
